We-Vibe Tango

TangosI have a sex toy collection. I started saying this when I first applied at The Pleasure Chest, because I decided that my four toys (the Lelo Ella, Fun Factory Stronic Eins, New York Toy Collective Shilo (Furiosa), and a shitty egg vibrator) were enough to count as a collection. Since then, I have acquired a lot more toys 1Around forty, though I’ve gotten rid of the Ella and a few others (and I threw away the shitty egg). But while I have all these toys, I don’t really use the vast majority of them very often. Like my stuffed animals and bras, I play favorites. Today I’m going to tell you about my most favorite thing: the We Vibe Tango.

Reading Epiphora’s review of the Pleasure-Mates Collection was all I really needed. The way Epiphora describes the hands-free orgasms she achieved with the Dusk + Tango combo made me have a lot of feels, especially because it made me think about dicks cumming hands free, something I had recently found VERY APPEALING (thanks porn tumblr). 2In retrospect, it also probably had something to do with burgeoning gender feels. The Tango is considered one of if not the most powerful bullet vibe on the market, and it is absolutely my go to for just about everything.

HOW THIS TOY WORKS
The exterior of the Tango is made from hard ABS plastic. If you purchase a Tango on its own, it comes in a soft pink or blue color. If you get it as part of a We-Vibe set (Pleasure Mates), it comes in white. The bottom of the toy has the We-Vibe logo and ‘Tango’ written in slightly raised letters. While not raised enough to catch gunk, the lettering is pretty unnecessary. The top of the toy is slightly slanted and kind of resembles a brand new lipstick. With a flat face, the Tango can be used for more pinpoint play or (slightly) more flat and diffused play, depending on what you prefer.

One button on the bottom controls the Tango. Pressing it once turns it on; each additional press (up to three) increases the power. At the fourth press, Tango starts in on its 4 different patterns (for a total of 8 settings). To turn off the toy, scroll to the 9th push or hold down the button on any setting, which keeps the toy on whatever setting you just used.

Tango charges with 2 magnetic nubs on the bottom. This means that (unlike the We-Vibe Rave), Tango is 100% submergible. I don’t really use toys in the bath or shower but it does make cleaning much easier. The charging nubs are VERY finicky 3unlike charging nubs on Fun Factory or FunToys, or even the We-Vibe Nova and threaten to jump ship if jolted even slightly. When fully charged (which takes about 90 mins), Tango supposedly lasts 2 full hours. I have never masturbated for 2 full hours straight, and the only times Tango has died on me, it gave me fair warning (for several days) by the blinking light on the bottom. It has never died directly after being charged, only after I’ve used it on several different occasions.

HOW I USE THIS TOY
Most of my masturbation (both in the past and now) consists of as much clit stim as I could get. My Wahl passed away sometime in 2013 4because I dropped it off the side of my bed a few too many times and the PicoBong Kiki I won in a giveaway was a terrible disappointment. 5Some of PicoBong’s stuff is okay, if other toys are price prohibitive. But for around the same price, Rock’s Off has better power. When I moved to California without sex toys in hand, 6idiot I resolved to get the Tango as soon as I got my first paycheck.

I was not disappointed. The first time I used the Tango, I came within a couple minutes of using it on the lowest setting. Three more orgasms followed, one on each of the power settings. I currently own two Tangos. I prefer my white one over my pink one because the dusty pink & blue that We-Vibe makes are not my thing. I try to keep one charged at all times. Usually I start on lower settings and make my way up; if I start too high, the power of the vibrations can be really uncomfortable. Plus the lower vibrations seem more rumbly to me. I rarely use the patterns with any vibes and I’m not a huge fan of Tango’s patterns. The only pattern I really like is the long loop that goes from lower to higher. It feels like it’s teasing me since it doesn’t give me time to get used to a single power setting.

I’ve also used one or both of my Tangos with a partner. During missionary sex, it’s small enough that I can hold it on my clit while being penetrated. I’ve also used it against my cheek while giving a bj, though it clatters really awfully against my teeth if I get too close to them (to be expected). My penis-having partner has also used the Tango to jerk off, since it’s small enough to hold in his hand alongside his dick.

Tango 2Somehow the Tango manages to be very small, very rumbly, and very powerful… given that it is a rechargeable bullet vibe. It fits most places that are made for bullets (ie dildos and harness pockets) though the end may stick out a bit since the Tango is longer than a typical bullet. Due to its length, it might be difficult to use the Tango in a dildo while wearing a harness, or flat against a surface.

For pinpoint clitoral stim, I love my Tangos. They are by far my most used toys and they work with a lot of other toys. If you prefer less pinpoint/more diffused vibration, Tango can go into many dils or We-Vibe’s silicone Glow. Alternatively, you could also try the We-Vibe Touch for something more diffused. Tango retails around $80 which makes it more of a luxury item. For $49, you can get a nu Sensuelle Point which features more patterns (and some say more power) but it does not come with We-Vibe’s 1 yr Warranty.7I have heard of the charger and/or motor of Sensuelles melting, which I have never heard happen with a We-Vibe product. You also might not want to use silicone lube with a Sensuelle or the We-Vibe Touch since they have silicone exteriors.

Order the We-Vibe Tango from  Pleasure Tease for $60 with free shipping, or from Early to Bed, VibrantSheVibe, Peepshow Toys, Lovehoney or directly from We-Vibe for $79.

LUBE & CLEANING
Since this toy’s exterior is ABS plastic, you can use any kind of lube with it. Because it charges magnetically, it can be submerged for cleaning with soap and water. If you like more intense cleaning, you can drop it into a 10% bleach solution & then rinse it.

PROs:

  • Powerful, rumbly, small
  • Waterproof/submergible
  • 1 yr warranty

CONs:

  • Slippery when used with lube
  • There is a similar toy that is cheaper
  • Hard & unforgiving exterior
  • Finicky charger
  • Higher price point

This toy was purchased with my own money. I am not receiving anything in exchange for this review. There are affiliate links included. If you like this blog and want to support the work I do, please consider clearing your cookies and purchasing through my affiliate links.

  • Hey! I just scrolled through your blog. I really like your emphasis on sex education and health, and obviously reviews are just fun to read. You’re fortunate to have two Tangos! Once, mine died on me literally moments from glory and I almost perished. Since then I definitely get the urge to collect multiple of the same toy in different colours — hey, you have to be able to differentiate the almost-dead from the freshly-charged.
