I am, at the very least, slightly cursed when it comes to L’Amourose toys.
A bit of backstory: I wanted a L’Amourose Rosa after AFemmeCock’s review, so I put it at the top of my wishlist. When I became an affiliate with Betty’s Toy Box, they offered to send one for review. I gleefully accepted and it arrived right before I took a trip to Chicago. I brought it with me, to test during my visit. Instead, imagine the horror when my family’s dog absolutely destroyed it. I was distraught. Thankfully, Betty’s Toy Box understood and let me instead write a review of the L’Amourose Prism V I previously purchased… And then I lost the charger for that toy for a month while moving. After cleaning my room three or four times and attempting to get in touch with L’Amourose for a replacement charger, 1They are really horrible at responding to emails I finally found it in a random box. So, without further ado…
HOW THIS TOY WORKS
The Prism V is 7 inches long, with 3.5 of those inches being insertable. It is made of hard ABS plastic and covered in a soft (but not squishy) silicone available in Azure Blue, Sky Blue, or Sunset Red. It features a curved head with a max diameter of 1.3” and three buttons on the front: +, ~ and -. The ~ button cycles through five available patterns.
The Prism V charges via a magnetic port on the bottom of the toy. It takes about an hour to charge and provides 2.5hrs of use on a full charge. This toy can be used externally or internally, though it does not feature a flange, so anal use is not suggested. It has an 18 month warranty and a Lifetime Quality Guarantee.2which basically means you can get a discount on a future toy should this one shit the bed
HOW I USE THIS TOY
It has taken me literally months to review this toy. I stopped accepting toys for review from my affiliates because I fell behind, due to both general gendery feelings and because this toy felt so boring. A lot of folks love this toy and offer it as an alternative to the Lelo Mona. 3Due to many of Lelo’s problematic issues, many reviewers including myself are trying to avoid their products.. I don’t have a hard-on for the Mona, so maybe that’s why I don’t love the Prism V. I got this toy because I thought I would like it and I really should like it because I like really strong, rumbly vibrations. But I prefer pinpoint stimulation, especially if it’s not rumbly. The Prism V feels rumbly in my hands but my genitals just don’t care. To get off, I have to press it to my junk as hard as I can at the highest setting and that’s not my idea of a good time.
My discontent might have to do with the curve of the Prism V’s neck. While it might work for some genital alignments, it was really hard to get significant pressure on my clit using the Prism V as an external vibe. When using it internally, it neither pulled on my g-zone nor filled me as nicely as when I’ve used the Mona. Still, it has a very similar curve to one of my favorite glass toys, so I don’t get it. Maybe the handle points away so shortly after the neck of the toy? Maybe it feels like something I’ve had before, but not as good? Whatever the reason, the Prism V is dull at best.
However, this toy has a good deal of rumble for its price. I can get off with it (but I can get off with a lot of things). Honestly, I might point someone towards this toy if they aren’t sure what they want, because of its versatility. It can be used externally or internally. It’s rechargeable, made of silicone, and really pretty. My anatomy doesn’t care for it, but that’s ok. Maybe yours will. You can purchase the Prism V for $106 at Betty’s Toy Box.
LUBE & CLEANING
This toy is covered completely in silicone, which can bond with silicone based lube. I recommend a water based lube so you don’t risk ruining your toy.
The L’Amourose Prism V charges magnetically and is waterproof, so it can be fully submerged for cleaning with soap and water. If you like more intense cleaning, you can drop it into a 10% bleach solution, then rinse thoroughly with water.
- Internal or external use
- Potential alternate to the Lelo Mona
- Really pretty
- Doesn’t work for my body
- Over $100
